Human rights lawyer Aamer Anwar claimed the family were victims of a smear campaign and questioned how CCTV from the airport had been leaked.
The Scottish lawyer representing a family who were allegedly kicked, stamped on and tasered by a police officer after an altercation at Manchester Airport claims they have been victims of a deliberate smear campaign.
GMP stated that three cops sustained head injuries and a broken nose in the fight, saying the violence in the viral video had been "the last of three altercations" in just over one hour. Mr Anwar claims both brothers were compliant before the officer stamped on his head and the mum believed her son was dying as he was "limp". They claim the mother was struck in the face by the officer with the Taser gun.
Meanwhile, the police constable in the video has been told he was under criminal investigation for assault, the IOPC has confirmed. The lawyer also demanded to know why CCTV from the airport had been leaked and raised concerns over the 'false narrative' being created by police sources.
