An evil monster who repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted his two younger sisters for over a decade has finally been unmasked
. Sarah McLeod and Chelsea Downing have bravely waived their right to anonymity to shine a light on the vile abuse carried out by Edward Reid.
Mum-of-two Sarah, 29, told the Daily Record: “Being sexually abused by my own brother has affected every single part of my life. Not only was my childhood stolen but he also took away my safety and innocence. “A few have asked if he just touched me once when I was like 12 and I’ve made a big deal about it. But they have no idea that it has been serious sexual abuse over a number of years. We’ve lost quite a lot of family over this.
“For a long time I actually thought what he was doing to me was normal. That it was something that brothers did to their sisters. It happened every week, sometimes three or four times. It just became a part of my life sadly. He was also convicted of trying to force her to perform a sex act on him. Chelsea, who was just six-years-old when Reid began violently abusing her, told how she was infuriated by his behaviour in the courtroom. The 25-year-old said: “When he took the stand, I had to walk out of court because he stood up without any emotion on his face at all. He said ‘I love my sisters, I’d protect them, I wouldn’t do anything to hurt them’.
