The popular holiday destination has threatened to ban suitcases with wheels due to the noise they make on the cobbled streets.
Tourists could soon be banned from bringing a common type of luggage to a popular holiday hotspot thanks to the amount of noise that they make.
According to Croatian publication Jutarnji List tourists will need to carry their luggage through the streets instead of wheeling it along. This move is "just the beginning", according to the mayor, and it won't affect travellers who have a backpack or holdall with them. This surge in tourist numbers means the city experienced frequent traffic jams and overcrowding, as well as skyrocketing house prices for locals.The popular hotspot isn’t the only European destination clamping down on tourist behaviour.
