Writing in his regular column for the Record, Anas Sarwar says Labour will restore economic stability and growth to the country.

On July 4, Scotland faces a stark choice – more chaos, misery and decline with the Tories or a decade of national renewal with Labour.

Tory economic chaos has caused misery for thousands of Scots - but with Labour, people across Scotland will have a government that is on their side. But instead of forcing working people to foot the bill, our policies will be funded by a windfall tax on the eye-watering profits of oil and gas giants, an end to tax breaks for private schools, action on tax dodgers, and by closing non-dom tax loopholes for the super-rich.

We will maximise Scotland’s influence in government and across the globe, with a Scotland Office relentlessly focused on the issues that matter to you. But it will also chart a path towards the 2026 Scottish Parliament election and show how Scottish Labour would use the devolved powers we already have here in Scotland to change our country.

Scotland has been failed by not one but two incompetent governments – and Labour can deliver change in both Westminster and Holyrood. After 14 long years, we now have a chance to boot out this chaotic and dysfunctional Tory government, which has inflicted austerity on working people and trashed standards in public life.
