An objector said they could not sit in their own garden in rural Highland Perthshire because of the 'intolerable level of noise'

Councillors have unanimously approved an application for a short-term let licence with conditions following concerns about "screeching" children staying in the property.

Objectors to the application for the Fearnan property complained of children screaming "incessantly". She said the lawn and patio was higher than other properties and the "excessive noise" and swearing had stopped her from being able to sit in her own garden. "The use of foul language is often heard and we have lost count of the number of times that we've actually had to ask guests to modify their language.

The objector said that any co-operation from guests to lower the noise or watch their language "rarely lasts for more than a few minutes". The committee was told the applicants had stopped weekend lets and now let the property for a minimum of five nights. Garden furniture and the barbecue were removed. No stag or hen parties are allowed.
