The 19-year-old went missing after deciding to take an 11-hour journey back to his accommodation on foot
Jay Slater, 19, from Lancashire, had told his friend he would walk back to his accommodation after missing a bus on Monday morning.He reportedly called her at 8.15am on Monday, telling his friend he was lost, needed water and only had one per cent battery on his phone.
“He’s ended up out in the middle of nowhere,” Ms Mae said. “Jay was obviously thinking he would be able to get home from there. Please help Jay Slater he is still missing. His mum is on route to Tenerife He had been to an event but then went off with people who were staying miles away. He decided yesterday around 8am that he would set off walking down the mountains. His phone died around 8.50am. Please…Mr Slater’s mother, Debbie Duncan, flew to Tenerife on Tuesday morning to help with the search.
“Nothing’s ever going to be enough when your youngest son’s gone missing but it sounds as if the police here are taking this very seriously and doing the best job they can,” Ms Duncan added.: Mr Slater is out with friends when he decides to stay out and leave with new acquaintances, one of whom has a hire car and drives the group to where they will all spend the night.: He is seen on social media for the last time, on Snapchat, wearing a grey t-shirt with a green trim.
