The Seattle Mariners made their sixth trade in the last week on Tuesday and acquired right-handed reliever JT Chargois from the Miami Marlins for minor-league starter Will Schomberg, according to reports. The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal was first with the report.
Chargois was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays on July 29, 2021, and was traded to the Marlins during the offseason in November 2022.According to a tweet from the Seattle Time's Adam Jude — Chargois specializes in sinkers and sliders. He throws his slider 41.5% of the time. The Mariners were reportedly looking for one more bullpen arm before the 3 p.m. trade deadline and opted to go with some familiarity instead of any big-name reliever.
