The Health Department is investigating food safety at The Park after health professionals at a second event at the venue became ill.
Health professionals became ill after a medical conference dinner at an Albert Park function space just days before a wedding at the same venue left more than 70 guests with gastro.
The Park venue manager Bahaa Harb said health inspectors had visited the venue last Friday and management was given permission to continue operating that weekend. “We will continue to work closely with the City of Port Phillip to determine the cause of this outbreak and will keep our customers and impacted parties notified of the investigation’s findings.”
At least 70 people who attended the wedding had reported being unwell following the event, according to the department. The number of people who had become ill after attending the medical conference had not been determined.
