Robert 'Al' Persichitti suffered a medical emergency while sailing to Normandy alongside a group of veterans
Robert “Al” Persichitti, 102, a US Navy veteran, was on board a ship sailing to Normandy alongside a group of veterans on Thursday 30 May when he suffered a medical emergency. He was airlifted to hospital in Germany but died the following day. He also served in Okinawa, and Guam as a radioman, according to the US military news organisation Stars and Stripes.
