'I’m a strong supporter of President Trump to return to the White House,' said Sullivan.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - In an interview with Newscenter Fairbanks, Senator Dan Sullivan was asked if there are any candidates he was supporting in the upcoming election, or any issues he’s trying to provide guidance on.
To this, he responded, “I think the presidential election, you have a situation where you have two candidates, President Biden and President Trump, that, in a very unique way, probably one of the most unique times in American history, they both have records as president. That’s unusual. I think that’s only happened a couple times in our country’s history, and what’s so important to me is the record of the Biden administration and the Trump administration in Alaska.
He called the differences between the two major candidates night and day. “Matter of fact, I met with President Trump and a group of senators just last week in the Senate, and the Trump administration’s record on bipartisan issues, by the way, that we’ve been trying to get done in our state for decades, whether it’s ANWR , whether it’s NPR-A , whether it’s the Tongass, whether it’s the King Cove Road, I mean the list is long.
Sullivan explained, “I worked closely directly with President Trump and his administration on core Alaska issues that matter to our economy, matter to our people, Alaska Native Vietnam veterans getting more land, pretty much everything we’ve been trying to get done for decades we got done during the Trump administration, so a superlative record on Alaska.”
On the other hand, the senator said the current president’s record couldn’t be worse. “They have come in and tried to shut down and reverse literally every one of those things that I mentioned. The Biden administration has issued 63 Executive Orders and Executive Actions to date singularly focused on Alaska, to harm our economy, to limit access to our lands, to hurt Alaska Native communities, Alaska Native veterans.
