Western Australian Liberal Senators will attempt to establish a parliamentary probe into the ABC’s conduct during an environmental protest raid at Woodside Chief Executive Meg O’Neill’s house.
Sky News Australia revealed on Sunday the photograph of an ABC crew filming protesters attempting to enter the home of Woodside boss Meg O’Neill’s family home in Perth.
An ABC crew is pictured on the driveway of Woodside Chief Executive Meg O'Neill in Perth during an attempted raid by climate activists. Picture: Supplied It will examine “the ABC’s actions in attending the protest”, any “engagement between the ABC and the protestors prior to the incident” as well as any “collusion between the ABC and the protestors”.
Western Australia Premier Roger Cook denounced the incident and said the conduct was “completely unacceptable and should be condemned by everyone, including the ABC”. “However, the fact that an ABC TV crew attended the private home of a WA citizen to document the committing of alleged criminal acts is cause for great concern and morally wrong.”and instead “remained on public land” observing the protest.
