Jason Graham was handed at least 19 years in prison in November 2021 for the rape and murder of Esther Brown in May that year
A convicted sex offender who murdered a pensioner after being released early from prison wanted to change his gender just months before the killing.
Earlier this month Graham was handed another 136 days in prison after he appeared at the city’s sheriff court and admitted assaulting the worker in December. The court heard he ran at a staff nurse, striking her body with his head and causing her to stumble to her injury. Graham, who had 23 previous convictions and had changed his surname to Evans just months before murdering the retired librarian, had been jailed at HMP Glenochil prior to being granted early release.
The details of Graham’s issues have now come to light via a Multi Agency Significant case review into Esther’s death which was published in April last year. The Significant Case Review cleared police and social workers of failing to prevent the pensioner’s death.
