Cllr Paul Tweed pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children in court last week
A former Merseyside Lord Mayor who pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children was a governor at a local primary school, the ECHO can reveal. On Tuesday, we reported on how Cllr Paul Tweed, who represents Litherland on Sefton Council, had been arrested, charged and pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children. He is facing sentencing for his crimes next month and has been expelled from the Labour Party .
But as well as his council roles, official records show that Tweed was also formerly a school governor for St Benedict's Primary School in Bootle . It is not clear from the council records when he held this position. The ECHO has contacted the school for a response.
