Ray Hadley has reflected on his decision to call time on his 43-year radio career as he looks ahead to the next chapter of his life.
announcing his retirement on-air earlier in the day."My children, Dan, Laura, Emma and Sarah, have made sacrifices over the years for me to realise my ambitions," Hadley said.
Speaking to his close friend on Paul Murray Live, Hadley reflected on how much his life had changed in the past decade and credited the support of wife Sophie Baird who he married in March 2021. Hadley said he was comfortable with his decision and hopes to win his 161st and final radio survey before bowing out."I've gone out on my terms and my terms are that I've worked at a great place, it's still a great place, there are great broadcasters there, there are great people running the place and I wish them the very best of luck," he said.
