A rainy weekend may be experienced across the Philippines as the shear line and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) continue to affect the country, PAGASA said on Friday.
Based on its 24-hour public forecast, the shear line and the trough, or the extension of the low pressure area , will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.
The weather bureau warned of possible flooding or landslides in the affected areas due to moderate to heavy rains. Meanwhile, the Amihan may bring cloudy skies and rains, potentially causing flash floods or landslides in the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon. Metro Manila and the Ilocos Region may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains due to the Amihan, but it will have no significant impact.
The rest of the country may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the shear line and the localized thunderstorms, PAGASA said.According to the weather bureau, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will continue to prevail in the country.Sundy Locus/VBL, GMA Integrated News
