Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer has criticised Virgil van Dijk after the Liverpool captain argued too much is demanded of modern football players.
In years to come UEFA are set to introduce reforms that are to increase the match load in the Champions League and Europa League, while FIFA are to do the same for the World Cup and Club World Cup. Now Shearer is the latest to weigh in on the debate.
