A Fatal Accident inquiry into the death of 10-year-old Shea Ryan has now been launched. The Glasgow schoolboy tragically died after falling down a manhole on a Drumchapel building site in July of 2020.
A sheriff is to probe the death of a Glasgow schoolboy after he tragically died after falling down a manhole on a building site.Contractor RJ McLeod, who was responsible for the area, was fined £860,000 in April this year for health and safety failures that led to Shea's death.

The other children raised the alarm and Shea’s stepdad Graham Patterson went into the manhole to try and rescue him, but he could not be saved. The cause of death was noted as “head injury and drowning”.
