A motorist in Edinburgh was captured on camera overtaking at high speeds in a 20mph zone - before they were forced to swerve to avoid a collision.

A reckless driver in Edinburgh was forced to swerve whilst overtaking on a bridge, almost causing a horror collision.

The clip shows the 4x4 on the other side of the road when another car comes head-on around the bend. The SUV quickly swerves back into the left lane, narrowly missing the oncoming vehicle, reports Edinburgh Live. The footage was captured by an Edinburgh-based driving instructor, who shared the clip online. The instructor's dashcam states his speed as 17mph as the SUV zooms past.
