A total of 417 individuals have been sentenced for offences in connection with the riots and disorder that broke out in parts of the country
More than 400 individuals were sentenced in relation to the riots and disorder that erupted across parts of the country following a knife attack at a Southport dance studio on July 29, which tragically resulted in the death of three girls. And 77 of them were arrested in South Yorkshire, while 26 - six per cent - were arrested in Humberside.
How old are the criminals? The oldest individual to be sentenced is Keith Edwards, 81, from Nottingham, who received a 28-day sentence, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to assault by beating during the unrest in the city on August 3. He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £154 victim surcharge.
How many have been jailed? A total of 369 out of the 417 people received immediate custodial sentences, including two under-18s. The next longest prison term was handed to Simon Orr, 39, of Tamworth, who pleaded guilty to riot for his involvement in an attack on a hotel in the town on August 4, for which he was sentenced to six years and 17 weeks, and a 10-year community behaviour order.
What is the shortest jail sentence? The shortest prison sentence so far is four weeks. This was given to Shane Dennis, 30, from Knowle in Bristol, who admitted to a racially aggravated public order offence after making racist comments during the city's unrest on August 3.
