Paul Kerr, brother of Scots singer Jim, has had his jail sentence extended for a 'relentless' hate campaign
The stalker brother of Simple Minds star Jim Kerr tried to blackmail a superfan of the band out of £100,000 before he was jailed for harassing the man and his wife.
Kerr was jailed in 2020 after a targeted campaign of harassment against the couple. Now he has had his jail term extended for continuing his "relentless" campaign of harassment from behind bars. But, within days of being jailed, he began to write letters to the NHS and Sussex Police repeating his accusations as he sought to have Mr Fagan sacked or arrested. Kerr, of Brighton, East Sussex, was jailed for a further four years after being found guilty of stalking and harassment at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday.
Mr Fagan said: "He called me a rapist and he called my wife a prostitute cum Muslim whore. We've had weeks and weeks of the abuse. I can't think of anything more disgusting. He threatened to murder us, he threatened to cripple us, threatened us with a bat." Describing what was said about her husband, Mrs Fagan told the jury: "Pure and utter filth and lies, filth, pure filth: calling him a rapist of a child. He found out that John was a nurse and he said that he sodomised a boy. He used to vary it, but the bottom line was that he raped a nine-year-old boy and that he was on the run from Liverpool Police."
