It's certainly been a wintry day
Some of Nottingham's waste collection services have been cancelled due to snow which is causing disruption across the city. Heavy snow was seen in most parts of Nottinghamshire on Thursday , with disruption including the halting of flights at East Midlands Airport while the runway was cleared.
Several bus services in Nottingham also had to be diverted and Nottingham City Council has now announced further disruption around waste collections. The authority said bins were not emptied in Mapperley and Bulwell Forest on Thursday due to the weather and road conditions. These bins are due to be emptied on Friday, but this is dependent on the weather. The council also said bulky waste, white goods and bin deliveries and removals across Nottingham have been cancelled on Friday so teams can "focus on emptying normal bins and supporting with gritting".The emptying of litter bins, fly-tipping collections and street cleaning will also face some partial disruption on Friday.
Nottinghamshire County Council said: "They're expecting to open as normal tomorrow morning but make sure to check their feed for any updates as they continue to monitor the weather." The Met Office is forecasting a cold day on Friday with snow easing, but with showers possible throughout the afternoon.
