EXCLUSIVE: Katy Loudon was asked by the Record to comment on a piece which focused on the exam results of the school at which Michael Shanks teaches

An SNP by-election candidate has said she did not read a blog which criticised the exam results of her Labour rival’s school and was shared by her MSP boss.

Her Labour opponent, Michael Shanks, is a teacher but a pro-independence blog questioned the exam results of the school department at which he taught. The blog labelled the results “disappointing in terms of temporal decline and comparative weakness”, adding: The article was shared by senior SNP MSP Clare Haughey, who according to Loudon's register of interest employs the candidate as a caseworker.Asked about the blog by the Record, Loudon said: “I am a teacher and I know how hard our teachers work and continue to work. We've had yet another set of fantastic results for our young people here in South Lanarkshire.
