7NEWS: Aussie man Matthew Borromei killed in holiday accident remembered

His father Rino Borromei said in a post, “Mum and I love you so much...Miss you. Forever in our hearts and thoughts.”

Borromei’s local sporting club, Railways Football Club Kalgoorlie, described him as having a “zest for life” in a Facebook postSupplied “Sadly Matt lost his life whilst touring in Italy, and he will be greatly missed by many for his energy, smile and zest for life,” the post said. “This is a very difficult write with Matt so loved by all, and words genuinely fail in this moment.”

A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson said it is providing consular assistance to Borromei’s family.
