Passions star Bruce French - who had over 150 acting credits - has passed away at the age of 79, it has been confirmed.

Actor Bruce French has passed away Passions actor Bruce French has died at the age of 79, it has been confirmed. The late actor, best known for his Father Lonigan role in the NBC soap, passed away due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease on February 7th. He starred as the priest in over four hundred episodes between 1999 and 2007, continuing the part for another year when it was revived on The 101 Network.

He is also noted as being one of a few actors to appear in both the Star Trek and Star Wars franchises, having starred in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyager and Enterprise plus the 1998 film Insurrection. His ‘Wars role was in 1981’s Star Wars Original Radio Drama. On the big screen, he was seen in Jurassic Park III as a science reporter, and as a minister in Mission: Impossible III.
