Plans for the hugely anticipated Marine Lake Events Centre project move a step closer

The Promenade is about to look very different as preparations are underway to demolish Southport Theatre in the next few days days.

Sefton Council has already announced the securing of ASM Global who will manage the £73 million venue on the resort’s promenade - joining the the events centre to their network of 350 venues around the world including the AO Arena in Manchester. Ahead of the demolition a number of culturally important items have been salvaged from the former theatre building, including historic projectors which will be persevered and put on display inside the new Marine Lake Events Centre.
