Speed limit cut in Lincolnshire: A safety measure or a nuisance? 🚦
Lincolnshire County Council's Planning and Regulations Committee has greenlit plans to reduce the speed limit on an accident hotspot in North Hykeham.
Planning Committee Chairman Councillor Ian Fleetwood and Boston Councillor Paul Skinner echoed these sentiments, emphasising the narrow and busy nature of the road and the need for drivers to exercise more caution. Meadow Lane sees a daily average flow of around 8,700 vehicles, with speed surveys indicating a mean speed of 45mph.Some, like Frank Snr, called for the installation of average speed cameras alongside the speed limit reduction.
