Splitgate is getting a sequel and Bloodborne and Disco Elysium and Bloodborne aren't.
“Halo with Portals” is how Splitgate was commonly referred to back in the day. It enjoyed a solid first three months, ranging between 30-70,000 players, though it quickly dropped to a measly 300 players a day after various technical issues with the game engine. It’s been picked up for a sequel now, and there’s an ambitious look to the future now. Splitgate was a promising title. Even if the Halo with Portals description is a bit reductive, it had all the makings of a game set for success.
It launches alongside a mobile companion app and a comic book – both ambitious sign-posts that there’s a formidable budget behind this title. Splitgate 2’s promotional comic, via 1047 Games.
