The father and son were among the thousands to attend this weekend’s convention at the IX-Center in Cleveland. On Saturday, sports enthusiasts converged on the IX-Center like a giant zombie horde clad in jerseys representing their favorite sports teams: the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Bears and others.

Boight said she had just submitted a Planet Metal Jordan card from 1998 to Professional Sports Authenticators, a company that authenticates and grades memorabilia.Boight likes to collect the NBA’s GOATs, including LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. But on Saturday, she was hunting for another Jordan autographed card.

Parker and his father looked at cards before meeting and getting an autograph from Dennis Rodman, the former NBA star known for defense, rebounding and colorful hair. This is their first national convention together.David Angle, 70, of Statesville, North Carolina, carefully examined theat the convention. Angle is a fan of baseball cards, but he really enjoys his large autograph collection, including Cleveland and Cincinnati greats like Jim Thome, Johnny Bench, Bob Feller and Pete Rose.
