The St. Johns County Emergency Management Department is asking the public for help in documenting damage left behind by Hurricane Helene.

St. Johns County officials also urged the public to save sandbags that did not come in contact with floodwater since they may be useful for future storms. The public may dispose of any unwanted sand by scattering it in the yard. However, sandbags that came into contact with floodwater may be contaminated with harmful bacteria and should be discarded at the Tillman Ridge or Stratton Road transfer stations.Stratton Road Transfer Station: 250 N. Stratton Rd., St. AugustineResidents are asked not to dispose of sandbags in the regular trash.
