Unconfirmed reports suggest that the PHSO’s findings into 'injustice and remedy' will be published on March 21.
Millions of women born in the 1950s affected by changes to the State Pension age could find out if they are due any redress from the Department for Work and Pensions this week. Any compensation recommendations made by the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman would be for all 3.8 million women affected by the increases to the official age of retirement.
MPs, including the SNP’s Alan Brown, and the All Party Parliamentary Group, have called for compensation to be paid to all those affected at Level 6 on the PHSO banding scale - equivalent to £10,000 or more. “However, whatever happens, this 67 month long investigation can no longer be used by ministers or opposition figures as a political shield. WASPI women are sick to the back teeth of hearing ‘we cannot comment while the PHSO investigation continues’.
