The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced changes to State Pensions and benefit payments due this week for individuals whose scheduled payments fall on January 1st and 2nd. Payments will be issued earlier due to the bank holidays. This also applies to payments from HMRC and Social Security Scotland. The announcement provides details on affected payments, including State Pensions, PIP, Universal Credit, and others. Offices, web chat services, and telephone lines will be closed during the bank holidays, prompting the earlier payment release.

The Department for Work and Pensions have confirmed changes to State Pensions and benefits due this week for people whose scheduled payments fall on certain days. The announcement also confirms that people in Scotland-only will receive payments earlier due to the January 2nd bank holiday.

Affected payments include State Pensions, Personal Independence Payment , Universal Credit, Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Tax Credits, Adult Disability Payment and Carer Support Payment. New Year's Day is a bank holiday in Scotland, England and Wales while January 2nd is recognised as a bank holiday in Scotland only.
