Fallin is moving closer to creating its own community garden.
Local group Fallin Community Voice has lodged an application with Stirling Council planners for a change of use of land east of Polmaise Park on Main Street in the village.
The aims of the project include: to feed the local community ; teach children where their food is from and how to grow their own; provide food for cooking classes to help people learn to cook for themselves; improve diets of the local community; improve wellbeing including physical, mental and emotional through exercise and engagement; teach people new skills; bring people from the community together; encourage intergenerational communication; create new jobs; and increase community...
The group say part of the plan is to have the garden “as accessible as possible to all”, however it has some concerns around wildlife accessing crops and potential vandalism.
