The tumultuous weather prompted the Met Office to issue a yellow weather warning for rain, effective until 10:00 GMT on Tuesday, and wind, lasting until 06:00 GMT on Tuesday.

Devon and Cornwall Police issued a warning to motorists about hazardous driving conditions, with several roads closed, including the A303, due to flooding. Dartmoor Zoo also announced its closure due to 'extreme weather', and the village of Trenarran was cut off after a 100-year-old tree toppled onto its main road. At its peak, 768 properties were affected in Cornwall, and 367 in Devon. The National Grid assured homeowners that engineers were diligently working to restore power supplies as swiftly as possible.Numerous reports surfaced of trees falling across the region over the weekend, including on the A381 at Thurlestone. A small fire erupted at a house in Cornwall following a lightning strike, according to firefighters. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service stated that crews from St Columb and St Dennis attended the fire in Whitecross at approximately 06:30. Incidents like a landslide on a road between Tavistock and Lamerton resulted in motorists being advised to exercise 'extra care'. Devon and Cornwall Police urged motorists to be cautious on Monday morning, citing hail experienced on Telegraph Hill and Haldon Hill. 'Please take extra care and allow additional travelling time,' a spokesperson stated. Flooding on the A303 in Devon became so severe it was closed in both directions between Upottery and Horton Cross. Devon County Council highways officials also recommended drivers exercise caution on the roads as cleanup efforts continued. Andy Cole, from the council, said: 'Allow extra time for that journey and just be careful, don't travel through flood water because you really don't know what's underneath that water and how deep it is.'Dartmoor Zoo announced it would remain closed after shutting on Sunday due to the weather conditions. The attraction stated: 'Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.' Elsewhere, the Cremyll Ferry between Plymouth and Cremyll in Cornwall was unable to operate due to worsening weather conditions. The Met Office stated that Herminia brings the possibility of damage and disruption to the UK, days after Storm Éowyn claimed two lives
