Amy Dowden has celebrated her own 'little' win as she shared an honest post-cancer diagnosis update. The Strictly Come Dancing star was diagnosed with breast cancer in spring 2023.
Amy bravely documented her cancer journey on social media and a documentary showing her return to dancing recently aired on the BBC. And the Welsh dancer's campaigning on breast cancer awareness hasn't stopped and she continues to share honest updates with her fans as well as encouraging them all to check their breasts regularly.
In a recent update on Monday , Amy shared a snap of herself in hospital as she told her 714,000 Instagram followers that she was feeling "so proud" of herself after having an MRI without feeling anxious about the scan. Amy added: "I’m sharing this to help show the truth behind the smiles and behind what a post cancer diagnosis looks like. Today was a little win for me and it’s important to recognise little wins!" It came as she headed for her monthly injection due to her cancer being hormone-fed.
