The former hockey player turned TV and radio presenter will take to the dancefloor this weekend
Sam Quek will take to the dancefloor this week as Strictly Come Dancing 's 2024 series gets underway. The former hockey player was the fifteenth and final celebrity to be announced for this year's Strictly back in August.
She was awarded an MBE in 2016 for services to entertainment and charity, after winning gold at the Rio Olympics as part of Team GB. Sam also appeared in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me out of Here ! that year, coming in fourth place after winner Scarlett Moffatt, and runners up Joel Dommett and Adam Thomas, who came second and third respectively. In 2018, Sam married her TV star husband Tom Mairs at a location that reflects her love of sport - Chester Racecourse.
