INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were involved in a shooting that left a man dead Wednesday afternoon on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot injury. The man was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Shortly after, IMPD says there was an exchange in gunfire between one officer and the suspect, who was struck at least once.No officers or uninvolved citizens were injured.The involved officer was equipped with a body-worn camera, which was activated during the incident.
The IMPD Critical Incident Response Team responded to the scene to conduct the criminal investigation.
