A 48-year-old man who is possibly armed and with a young child is holed up inside a Snohomish County Motel 6 Wednesday.
A man who is possibly armed and with a child is holed up inside a Snohomish County Motel 6 on July 31, 2024. Around 11 a.m., Everett police, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office and a SWAT team responded to the motel, located on 128th Street SW, for the standoff. At 9:50 a.m., officials responded to a 911 "assault-with-weapon" call and attempted to make contact with the man, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
“The mom that was in there apparently got pistol-whipped,” said Jo Greco, who has been staying in a motel room right next to the suspect. The child is believed to be related to the man, who is armed with a firearm, according to the SCSO. The SCSO said the woman who escaped was not shot or injured. “Our top priority here is to make sure this is resolved safely. Our crisis negotiators are on scene currently negotiating on the phone with the 48-year-old suspect, looking to get a peaceful solution here,” said Courtney O’Keefe, a spokesperson for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.“I'm disabled and I don't have my medicine, my inhalers, I don't have shoes. As you can see my foot's swollen and I had to walk all the way from the other side here," Greco said.
