Tan addicts suffer horror burns from 40C sunbeds
AT least a dozen women have suffered serious burns all over their bodies after undergoing tanning sessions at a clinic in Brazil, police report.
All the casualties were devotees of the roof top sunbathing craze which is currently sweeping the South American country, where women go to extraordinary lengths to make sure their bodies are marked with conspicuous tan lines.Sunburn Victim The women revealed that to get their "perfect tan lines" they wore tiny stick on bikinis made out of black insulating tape and had sun tanning lotions applied all over their bodies.
“The numbers of complainants have risen to an alarming level and we have launched an investigation into the legality of the business’s operations and the reported suspicious practices carried out by its owners.” She said: “The women told us Joelma advised them to douse themselves in cold milk and to apply cold compresses and a moisturiser.
Another sun scorched customer, who works as a nurse technician, said: “This whole episode has totally ruined my self-confidence.
