Thames Water proposes pumping treated wastewater into the River Thames to meet rising water demand.
The government has faced criticism over this week's approval of plans to pump treated wastewater into the River Thames in south-west London.
Thames Water and the government say the plan is needed to help address the "skyrocketing" demand for water. Former Olympic rower Ian McNuff, who lives along the River Thames in Teddington, told BBC London: "The more we looked at it and the more questions we asked, the more uncomfortable we became."They cannot guarantee that they will cause no harm. They 'think' it will be as good as it is now but that's not good enough."
