The 14-year-old boy sustained a head injury during the incident
At around 12.30pm on Friday, July 26, police said a 14-year-old boy was reportedly tackled off his bicycle while cycling in the Bedford Street area, causing him to fall to the ground sustaining a head injury. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam footage, or other footage that could assist in their investigation.A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, would have dash-cam or other footage to contact police on 101 quoting 717 26/07/2024.
