A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a bomb alert that led to trains being cancelled and a road being closed.
The bomb squad was called to the scene in a flat near High Wycombe train station at around 1.40pm today, with police evacuating the area.
A number of Chiltern Railways train services were cancelled as access to the station was cut off, but they have since resumed. Officers said the man had been arrested on suspicion of possession of an explosive material for an unlawful purpose, and remains in custody. The main road leading up to the train station remains closed to traffic, causing disruption to local bus services too.: ‘Police officers attended an address in Amersham Hill and arrested a 19 year-old man on suspicion of possession of an explosive material for an unlawful purpose.‘The Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit were called and are currently at the scene.
‘Amersham Hill outside the railway station is currently closed, so we would advise motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area.’
