Two teenagers, Pharrell McLennon and Romarni Spencer, who pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, are scheduled for sentencing today. The incident occurred at the Bridgeway Centre in May, leading to a police cordon and closure of the Co-op.
Two teenagers, now aged 18, Pharrell McLennon and Romarni Spencer, are due to be sentenced this afternoon, Friday, January 24, at Nottingham Crown Court for possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. The incident took place at the Bridgeway Centre around 3.25pm on Sunday, May 5. After analysis of CCTV footage, the two teenagers, who were both 17 at the time, were arrested and charged.
The Co-op at the Bridgeway Centre was closed for several hours following the incident, and police put a cordon in place the next day, Bank Holiday Monday, May 6, before the area was reopened. Judge James Sampson is hearing the case, with Richard Thatcher prosecuting. Spencer is represented by Dominic Shelley, while Philip Bown represents McLennon. The sentencing hearing is set to begin at 2pm. A courtroom two at Nottingham Crown Court is full of family and friends of the two teens.
