Yorkshire folk have said any areas "without fish and chips scraps or chip spice" shouldn't be classed as Northern.

Kelly Meek: "Midlands don't have chip spice and pattie butties. I'm northern." "Could be said it’s only up north if the fish shop knows what scraps are and serves them." Lorraine Taylor-Davinson added: "I don't mind southerners thinking that the north stops in Leeds it means we can keep the beautiful North east and Northumberland to our selves where we have miles of beautiful coastline and don't have to sit on top of each other all summer to have a day at the beach.
