Holidaymakers have spotted the police helicopter flying overhead in Tenerife amid the search for a missing British teenager.
Yesterday the Civil Guard also said that the search had been dramatically switched to the south of the island, before it was moved back to the north. A spokesman for the Civil Guard said at 12.30pm local time: "The search operation has moved to the south of the island. The Civil Guard spokesperson then later said: "Officers have returned to the Masca area to continue with the search operation."
The Bomberos Voluntarios de Santiago del Teide said: "On Tuesday morning, at 2:17 a.m. we are given a notice to search for the missing young man in Masca. A vehicle and personnel were dispatched to the site and together with firefighters based on Icod and officers from the civil guard of the mountain rescue team carried out a search in the area of the Ilda Mirador.
