Tesco has announced the closure of several stores in Scotland tomorrow, January 24, as Storm Eowyn is expected to bring high winds and dangerous weather conditions. The Met Office has issued a red weather warning for the country, advising against travel and predicting winds of up to 100 mph. Other businesses and schools are also closing in anticipation of the storm.

Several local authorities have announced school closures due to the weather, and travel operators have also shut down their services as Scots are advised not to travel.Tesco has already sent an email to customers in areas including Ayrshire, Glasgow and Stirling advising them that their stores will be closed tomorrow.

"This means Home Delivery and Click+Collect orders scheduled for Friday from these stores will be cancelled. If you have a slot booked, we'll contact you to confirm next steps. Forecasters are warning of flying debris resulting indanger to life, as well as "very dangerous" driving conditions because of fallen trees. It's expected there could be power cuts, damage to buildings and homes, and delays and cancellations to bus, train, ferry services and flights.
