'Soft golden sand, and a beach that goes on for miles....great for dogs, family days out and picnics.”
The summer holidays aren’t over yet which means there’s still time to squeeze in a trip to the beach. Even if wall-to-wall sunshine isn't in the forecast, it’s always nice to visit the coast and soak up the sea views.
Instead you’ll come across hundreds of acres of beautiful sand dunes, backed by a beautiful pine forest. The beach has a long stretch of golden sand and on a clear day you can see as far as the Cumbrian mountains. As well as bucket-loads of sand, Formby Beach certainly has bucket-loads of charm, too. One visitor described it as a ‘hidden gem’ on Tripadvisor. They wrote: “Hidden gem unless you are fairly local. Soft golden sand, and a beach that goes on for miles. Backed by high dunes, it is not for those with limited mobility but great for dogs, family days out and picnics.”
