Viewers of The Chase expressed their anger on Tuesday after contestants repeatedly chose lower cash offers during the game show, ultimately leaving them with a minimal prize fund.
Fans of The Chase were left disgruntled as they all expressed the same complaint about the ITV quiz show. During Tuesday's episode four contestants took on Mark Labbett , in a bid to win some money. First to face The Beast was Stephen, a civil servant from Lincolnshire, who impressed in the cash builder round by answering nine questions correctly. Despite having £9,000 in his pocket, Stephen opted for Mark's lower offer of £3,000.
After successfully making it back to the team, it was Chynna's turn to increase the prize fund. The 31-year-old had no problem following in her teammate's footsteps, correctly answering eight questions in the cash builder, according to the Express. However, like Stephen, Chynna also chose the low offer of £2,000, bringing the team's total to £5,000. Host Bradley Walsh pointed out that they could have had £17,000 instead. Next was Rob, an ambulance dispatch officer from Newcastle. The 28-year-old answered six questions correctly in the cash builder and, refusing to take a minus offer, stuck with this in the face-off with Mark. Sadly, Rob was caught before making it back to the final chase. Carol was the last contestant to face The Beast. She approached the table with £3,000, but like her teammates, decided to opt for the low offer. In a surprising turn of events, the contestants on the game show chose to take the minus £2,000 offer, leaving them vying for a paltry £1,000 each in the final round. This move sparked outrage among viewers who promptly expressed their dismay on social media platforms. One incensed fan ranted: 'Oh my God! This team! First two get £8and9k and go low, and the woman at the end is bound to go low because she's telling everyone else to. What a waste! They could have been playing for £90k and they're playing for £5k!
