The 94-year-old quizzer left viewers in stitches at his witty responses
ITV favourite, quiz show The Chase, rose to a new level on Wednesday, April 19, after 94-year-old quizzer, Val wowed viewers, leaving some in stitches at his witty responses. The retired veterinary surgeon was one of four hopefuls competing to win a cash prize on the popular show.
"It's quite a lovely and chirpy outlook you have on life Val," quipped Bradley as he attempted to make light of the comment. "If we bag four or five grand you could get that spent on the candlesticks." Val then had the audience in fits of laughter again as he corrected the gameshow host and said "No, I was thinking of the grave."
Abeel, 25, a dentist with an interest in sports, admitted he hoped to buy himself a new sports car with his winnings. He only scored £1,000 in his cashbuilder round, but was able to join Meng and Val in the final chase.
