A fairground boss can be seen screaming at his workers to go faster when dismantling a wild mouse coaster, known for its sharp turns and drops, as they try to get it dismantled before the dawn.
The operator behind the Christmas fairground ride that crashed in Birmingham is a long-standing family business that has become one of Europe's biggest attraction providers, MailOnline can reveal.
In the show, Mr Danter was filmed swearing at staff to get them to work faster to take down the firm's Wild Mouse rollercoaster, which he had to move from Southport to Dorset. He also said he was teaching his son Abie Jr, 12, how to put it together. Henry, 80, is the patriarch of the family and owns Barry Island Pleasure Park in South Wales, where scenes for the BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey were filmed, after buying it in 2015 before spending £8million on improvements.
His son Harry helps manage day-to-day operations at Barry Island, while his daughter Kimberley runs Symonds Yat Leisure Park near Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. The company operates and hires out portable amusement rides throughout the UK and abroad, and says on its website that all are 'maintained to the highest standards, carry full public liability Insurance, test certificates and risk assessments'.
Danter Amusements is based at a site in Birmingham - and the company linked to the Bob Wilson funfair heritage, hence the 'Wilson's' sign on the front gate The City Starflyer is 180ft high and swings pairs of chairs around in a circle while moving up and down. The ride is described by Danter as 'one of the tallest rides around' and having a 'bird's-eye view'.
