READ MORE: Piccadilly Gardens was back to its usual self last night - but 36 hours before, things were very different In Facebook comments seen by the M.E.N., users claimed there is a lack of 'security' at the store, with people 'too scared' to speak up against people causing trouble. Bosses at the restaurant insist security and safety for its customers and staff is a priority, however.
Another customer, from the Waterloo part of Ashton who asked to remain anonymous, described the moment she found out about the incident at McDonald's. The 68-year-old said: "I came here and all the windows were smashed. 'We are in a much better place' Yet there is work taking place to try and combat the issue. Last year, a Public Spaces Protection Order was introduced, meaning fines of £1,000 could be issued to those drinking alcohol, taking drugs or performing other anti-social activities in Ashton town centre.
